CAD Design:

The images are designs of parts that started in two processes. Taking the outer shell design and solidifying it for feature construction. If a surface doesn't solidify it is a problematic surface. Thus it is imperative to have an accurate clean and well-constructed surface to achieve a good solid model. Once this process is completed then the solid modeling features can be constructed.
